The Process of the Pardon (music album)
Lately, I’ve been showered with gifts from our brothers over at Christcentric; besides the new album from Evangel, which I just mentioned a few days ago, I’ve also received the new album by Voice, called the Process of the Pardon. There’s some phenomenal stuff on it, so I want to give everyone a quick heads-up.
The heart of the album is Voice’s excellent unpacking of the ordo salutis, beginning with election in eternity past, and moving through the gospel call, regeneration, conversion (i.e., repentance and faith), justification, and so on, until final glorification is reached. This portion of the album begins with a very instructive (and at times somewhat humorous) interview with Dr. Wayne Grudem, and is followed by Voice’s hip-hop rendition of this foundational topic; and then, immediately afterward, a series of tracks dedicated to unfolding a redemptive-historical overview of the gospel accomplishment and its evangelistic effects.
Another highlight is his treatment of Covenant Theology, which is kicked off by another very informative interview, this one with Ligon Duncan.
And besides these two highlights, there’re a whole lot of other meaty tidbits packed in — Voice tackles the New Perspective head-on, models a biblical approach toward manhood/womanhood and family life, sounds the call for the centrality of the gospel and the need for perseverance and evangelism, etc. In sum — this is an album you won’t want to miss.
